Kitchen Makeover Inspiration

When we moved into our current home,

one of the things I was most excited for was the potential in two very important spaces- the backyard and our kitchen, aka the places I like to spend the most amount of time. But for the sake of today’s topic, we’re focusing on the kitchen (I know, I’m sure you shocked, given the title of the post. Ha!).

So, here’s the thing. Our kitchen is old, and it’s galley-style. It’s small and narrow and just a bit quirky. But it’s also light and bright, and with pretty much a blank canvas to work with, as the space was all white when we moved in and we had to supply our own appliances, I knew we really had the opportunity to add personal touches, make the space our own and look like, well, anything but a rental kitchen.

But before I dive into specifics and details of what we did and how we did it (in upcoming posts), I wanted to kick off this unofficial mini kitchen makeover series with a little background on my inspiration and vision for the space so we can really set the tone and mood for the project, and you can better envision the look and feel I’m going for in our galley kitchen makeover.

And yes, this picture is indeed a little sneak peek of at our new and improved kitchen, taken about mid-makeover. Truly so excited with how it has turned out and can’t wait to share more! Stay tuned for the next kitchen post, coming next week plus the full reveal in October, and, in the meantime, keep scrolling for more kitchen makeover inspiration.

INSPIRATION PHOTOS

We moved into this home almost 2 years ago and I’ve been pinning inspiration photos ever since. So, as I’m sure you can imagine, I’ve got quite a few photos saved up. While you can, of course, take a peek at my entire Kitchen Pinterest Board, I’ve also created a section specifically for this project, so if you’re only interested in seeing the more focused, honed-in, highly curated content pertaining to this project, check out my rental kitchen inspiration board here.
