Southern Style

Draper James June Lace Dress c/o || Dior Heels || Gigi New York Madison Crossbody in Navy c/o || Kendra Scott Bracelet c/o (very similar option)

Ah, Monday, we meet again. But just like last week, I'm facing you head on with a bright, pretty lace dress. Bonus-this one comes with a dose of Southern charm.

If there was ever a brand that fully embodied good ol' Southern charm, Draper James is it. As a long time fan of Reese Witherspoon's work and sweet-as-pie personality, making it to her Draper James store in Nashville was high on my priority list while we were in town. Just like everything she does, her store did not disappoint. Of course the clothes and space were beautiful and the employees wonderfully friendly, but what I really loved were all the sweet and thoughtful touches that made you feel like you were being welcomed right into Reese's home (or at least what I imagine it must be like). Almost as soon as we walked in, the kind girl who greeted us asked us if we would like a glass of sweet tea. I quite literally did a double take. I mean, I know southerners are supposed to be nice, but this nice??! I was blown away. This small detail alone made me want to move right in/buy everything in the store/become friends with the girl working. I mean, that's totally normal, right?!

Besides the sweet tea, one of the things that caught my attention was this beautiful lace dress. I mean, is it not stunning? And it fits like a dream! While it would be perfect for wearing around Nashville or to a dinner date at Nashville's popular Josephine, it's also super easy to wear wherever you live. Case in point, a Sunday brunch in Brooklyn. Because I just can't get enough Southern in my life since returning from Music City, the day we took these photos we went to a place serving Southern-style brunch foods (we got the duck hash, biscuit Benedict with ham and, just like we ordered at one of our favorite brunch spots in Nashville, monkey bread). This dress would also be great for the office, with flats and/or a blazer, for a baby or bridal shower or with your hair and some fancy jewelry on for a cocktail party. Just goes to prove that you don't have to be in Nashville (or the south) to have a little bit of southern style with you wherever you go.
