Every year I say "This is it! This is the year we get all kinds of fancy and go out to ring in the New Year!" And every year, we do just that. We go out to (b)ring in some take-out and then we get all kinds of fancy on the couch in our best pajamas and fluffiest blankets. As you should be, I know that you're uber jealous of the way fun night that we have. It's a real rager, I tell ya. It's so raging, even my sequins haven't been able to handle the party and they've frequently been found hiding out in the back of my closet. Yup, hiding out with the sad truth that I'm an old lady that just can't hang anymore. As much as we love the idea of going out, the truth is, by the time NYE rolls around, we're both so exhausted, coming down from holiday travels, family time and the busiest work seasons, that it's pretty much all we can do to "Netflix & Chill". In the past, I've always planned the most festive outfits, only to never have them see the light of day. So I decided this year, instead of fighting it, I would accept the inevitable, and dress in a more appropriate "plaid & chill" outfit. Of course, I still like to look somewhat put together so I paired my plaid with the comfiest of leggings (that moonlight as super nice pants), my favorite soft blazer and few sparklers on my ears and fingers. It seems every year that more and more friends we talk to have less and less NYE plans, or they opt for something more casual, as well, so I'm taking comfort in knowing that I certainly won't be the only one "plaiding and chilling" come New Year's Eve.
