A MID-WEEK PICK-ME-UP OF FAVORITE PHOTOS, LINKS AND THINGS

santa monica paddle out

// NEW BOOKS

2

Last week we ordered a few new books that are all from Black authors and creatives. Hilton Carter is someone we have both loved following on Instagram for years {If you love plants you’ll want to follow him, too!} and we’ve been meaning to order his books {here and here}. Glad we finally did! And the tiki one? Well, that was a bit of an impulse purchase. But I mean, do you see that cover??! Swoon! And the cocktails sound amazing! Can’t wait to whip one {or a few} up!

This brightening tonic has quickly become one of my favorite skincare products. It truly makes my skin look infinitely better, it helps control break-outs and it really is gentle enough to use every day. Happy to have gotten a new bottle back in my beauty cabint!

// SUSTAINABLE PIECES

I’ve had my sustianable Girlfriend leggings for over a year now and still love them so much, but I recently added this sweatshirt {along with a few other pieces} from a new-to-me sustainable line, Pact, which I’m really loving so far!

P.S. Notice our kumquat tree?! It may just be my favorite thing in our backyard…besides the couch, of course :)

Malibu drive

// PEACEFUL PADDLE-OUT

1

Over the weekend, Dave went to the peaceful paddle-out that was in Santa Monica. He captured lots of great photos, but this one has to be one of my favorites. I just think it’s such a powerful image that says so much without really saying anything at all.

We’ve been doing weekly {and sometimes twice weekly} drives into Malibu, which have been amazing for clearing the head, de-stressing and re-focusing. Oh, and, you know, giving us a reason to get out of the house and go somewhere!

// Ordered these last week from a Black owned business and I can’t wait for them to come! They’re going to be perfect for sleeping/lounging during the summer!

// A great list of vegeterian dinners that are packed with protein

// If you need new candles, I highly recommend checking out this black owned brand. The designs are sleek and the price points are amazing! Plus, they’re currently donating 50% of their sales!

// If you’re in LA, and in need of a floral arrangement, check out this spot and this spot. Both are black female owned and their arrnagements are beyond stunning!

// Another black female owned La brand I disocvered last week…I snagged one piece but i’m anxiously awaiting a restock so i can get my hands on a few other pieces!

// When I was looking for places to donate to last week, this one and this one really stood out and moved me. If you have the means, and feel compelled, donations are needed and being accepted.
